Lacey Days

Last week I listed Nemacolin as a great weekend getaway, but I'd like to add that it can also be a fantastic day trip as well. Brunch at Lautrec, followed by a walk around the grounds, and finished by one of the many activities on site, or a sightseeing trip to Fallingwater (more on that later in the week) can be just what you need to unwind. And here's a perk, don't forget your pup! Nemacolin Wooflands, a "pet spa" is right down the road, so you can drop your dog off for daycare/play time or a groom (with adorable optional add ons like a blueberry facial and "pawlish") while you enjoy your visit.

This lace dress is one of my new favorites, can you believe it's $30.00 from Forever 21? Sometimes, you find real gems in that store, and this lace number is definitely one of them. It's not on the website, but make sure to look for it in the store (or shop this similar one). It comes with a not so attractive green sash that I recommend switching out for something a little more glam, like a thin gold belt. Pair with cork heels (like these) to complement that neutral feel.

3 Pittsburgh Weekend Getaways (That Feel Far Away)

Nemacolin Woodland Resort:
With a replica of the Ritz in Paris, Frank Lloyd Wright inspired architecture, Five Diamond French dining at Lautrec, a world class spa and even a small zoo, Nemacolin transports you to another world while still being in the Pennsylvania countryside.

How romantic is a cabin in the woods? Rent your own little place and take in the towering trees on a hike or canoe ride while unplugging for the weekend. Don't expect TV or wifi at this hotel, nature is the main source for entertainment here.

Enjoy hot therapeutic mineral springs, golf, dining and a spa at the same place that a handful of U.S. Presidents have vacationed through history. The Omni Bedford recently went through a $120 million renovation and expansion that brought this resort into a whole new era.

Nude Shoes for Summer

As a self proclaimed shoe hoarder, I was in disbelief when I recently noticed that I don't own any nude sandals for the summer. I wondered how this could have happened? All these shoes, and no simple nude open toe heels to go with just about everything and anything? I came to the realization that I get sucked into more elaborate and showy shoes more often than I'd like to admit, and vowed to only buy shoes that are a necessity (for now). While searching for the perfect pair of simple nude heels, I came across some others that could easily be used with all your spring and summer attire. At these price ranges, you be the judge whether to splurge or save!

Classic Colors

Some things just never go out of style. A full white skirt and light chambray shirtdress are great separately or together. Add to that navy heels, a gold bag and accessories, and just enough red peeking out really make this combination a favorite color classic.
